Babylon: Beyond Borders

A simultaneous live performance using telematic and projection technology, between four stages: The Market Theatre in Johannesburg, the Bush Theatre in London, The Harlem Stage in New York City and SESC in Sao Paulo.
The production explored our relationship to Babylon and ideas about utopias: notions of home, migration and language.
Using the starting point of the Tower of Babel story from the Bible, the production presented stories from four contemporary towers: The Grenfell Tower in London, The World Trade Centre in New York City, Ocupacao 9 de Julho in Sao Paulo and Ponte City Tower in Johannesburg.
