Through a combination of embodied, experimental, and technological methodologies, Nicola’s theatre work ranges from direction to dramaturgy, projection, and sound design. This work includes heightened text, mime, puppetry, documentary theatre, and one-person shows. Their work has toured internationally and includes a Naledi Award for Best Independent Theatre Production in 2019.
As a facilitator, Nicola has worked with students from the Market Theatre Laboratory, Wits, AFDA, and the Centre for Theatre, Dance, and Performance at UCT. They have lectured an array of courses including theatre-making, workshop theatre, design, performance historiographies and critical theory, and voicework.
